ENDANGERED SPECIES VIDEO CONFERENCING PROJECT BRIEF

(idea provided by Andrew Freebury - Crosyceiliog Primary School, Torfaen)

 

Preparation prior to VC

 

  1. Each class/school will decide upon an endangered species to focus on.
  2. The class will research their endangered species and then produce a piece(s) of work to show and discuss during the video conference to teach the other class about the chosen endangered species.
  3. Suggested forms of work to produce – sculpture from recycled materials, a story, poem, osme form of art work etc.  (Possible to link with Green Week)
  4. Photograph/film the process of learning about the endangered species and creating the finished forms of work.

 

Resources

 

  1. Name of the endangered species
  2. Internet access
  3. Various materials according to the needs of the class re: presenting the endangered species
  4. Digital cameras/camcorders (optional)

 

 

Video Conference Agenda – Suggested Activities

 

  1. Initial introductions between the classes/schools.
  2. Each class will present the endangered species including any relevant information about the process of researching the species and photos/films
  3. Q and A Session following the presentations
  4. Thoughtshower session how to help the endangered species looked at – what each class/school could do to help the species.
  5. Closing comments and thank you.
