Going on a Wolf Hunt

GOING ON A WOLF HUNT - VIDEO CONFERENCING PROJECT BRIEF

(idea provided by Louise Sulway – Maendy Primary School, Torfaen)

Preparation prior to VC

1.        Each class will read the story of Little Red Riding Hood

2.       Each class will research the best places to try and find a wolf.

3.       Use photographs of different habitats an an aid and discussion point.

4.       Discuss if the wolf would be happy living in each of the habitats shown.

5.       Each class will create a map of different places where the wolf might live (the wolf needs to be hidden behind one of the places) along with a set of clues to find the wolf.

6.       The map and clues will be sent to the partner class/school for them to solve where the wolf will be.

  2. Various habitat photographs
  3. Various materials to create an interactive map
  4. A set of clues

Video Conference Agenda – Suggested Activities

  1. Initial introductions between the classes/schools.
  2. Each class/group will follow the set of clues to find the wolf on the map provided in a given amount of time e.g. 30 mins
  3. Once the wolf has been found the classes can discuss why they put the wolf there and why the wolf would like living there.
  4. Closing comments and thank you.
