HABITAT EXCHANGE VIDEO CONFERENCING PROJECT BRIEF

(idea provided  by Medi James -  Pontnewydd Primary School, Torfaen)

Preparation prior to VC

  1. Each class/group (from different countries) investigate their local environment/habitats.
  2. Each class/group identifies the vegetation which exists in each habitat and why it likes to grow and live there.
  3. Each class/group writes a description of the habitat using appropriate scientific language.  (NB they must not actually name the focussed vegetation selected)

3.       clues for the partner school re: the habitat

Video Conference Agenda – Suggested Activities

  1. Initial introductions between the classes/schools.
  2. Each class/group presents their description of the habitat to the partner class/group.
  3. The partner class/group spends an agreed amount of time researching the described habitat in an attempt to identify the selected focussed plant form (E.G. 30 mins)
  4. The partner class/group will then present their answer and the host class/group will confirm if the guess is correct.
  5. Q and A session could take place w.r.t the habitat.
  6. Closing comments and thank you.
