LIGHT AND SHADOW PUPPET SHOW - VIDEO CONFERENCING PROJECT BRIEF

(idea provided by Louise Sulway – Maendy Primary School, Torfaen)

Preparation prior to VC

1.        Each class/group will explore how shadows are created and altered according to the position of the light source.

2.       Each class/group will use their knowledge of light and shadows to design and make a shadow puppet theatre and puppets.

3.       Each class/group will write a short puppet play to perform in the shadow puppet theatre.  Accompanying sound/music can be added and movements of figures can be investigated through PE sessions.

Video Conference Agenda – Suggested Activities

1. Initial introductions between the classes/schools.
2. Each class/group will present their puppet show
3. Following each presentation a  Q and A session could take place.
4. Closing comments and thank you.
