NATIONAL EMBLEMS VIDEO CONFERENCING PROJECT BRIEF

(idea provided by Lisa Bodenham – Woodlands Community Primary School, Torfaen)

 

Preparation prior to VC

1.        Each school researches their own country as a whole and then focus more closely on a specified locality within the own country.

2.       Each school researches the chosen emblem for their country – e.g. why is it an emblem?  What is the significance?  Who developed it as an emblem? Etc

3.       Each school – create the emblem for their own country and write a set of instructions for making their own country’s emblem – materials needed etc. 

4.       This set of instructions is then sent to the partner school for them to create the alternate emblem.

5.       Each school then makes the opposite schools emblem according to the given instructions.

6.       Each school researches the opposite country and creates a quiz/powerpoint for the home country school to answer during the video conference.

Video Conference Agenda – Suggested Activities

 

  1. Initial introductions between the classes/schools.

2.       Presentation by each country of emblems and process of making them. 

3.       Compare to the set of instructions provided and the emblem created by the home country.

4.       Quiz or powerpoint based on the opposite country – country of origin answers the questions.
