PACK A SUITCASE VIDEO CONFERENCING PROJECT BRIEF

(idea provided by Claire Herbert– Abersychan Comprehensive School, Torfaen)

Preparation prior to VC

1. Each class will choose 10 items to be packed in a suitcase to be taken on holiday.
2. Pupils must find the words for the items packed in the chosen foreign language.
3. Each class will create a set of clues for the items - this can be done in a problem soving way and be presented in the foreign language e.g. I need this in order to travel out of the country. (answer - passport.

Resources

1. Internet access
2. Relevant software packages
3. Foreign Dictionaries
4. Paper/Coloured pens etc

Video Conference Agenda – Suggested Activities

1. Initial introductions between the classes/schools in the chosen foreign language.
2. Each class will present their clues for the items packed in the suitcase.
3. The partner class will make notes and will be given a specific amount of time to find the answers by whatever means they choose.
4. The partner class will present the suitcase that the host class has described.  The relevant word(s) must be included.
5. Closing comments and thank you in the foreign language.
