SPORTS DAY - VIDEO CONFERENCING PROJECT BRIEF

NB THIS IS A TWO SESSION VIDEO CONFERENCE

Video Conference 1

Preparation prior to VC

1.        Each class/group thoughtshower a list of sporting activities which could be undertaken during a VC. (If an international conference perhaps have a national theme to the activities)

Resources

Video Conference Agenda – Suggested Activities

1. Initial introductions between the classes/schools.
2. Each class will present their thoughtshower ideas for the sporting activities to undertake.
3. The classes will then vote on an agreed number of activities to undertake during the second video conference.
4. The final list of activities will be decided upon.
5. If necessary demonstrations can be given of the activities if the children are unsure of any of them.
6. Closing comments and thank you.

Video Conference 2

Preparation prior to VC

1. Each class/group will spend time practicing each of the selected activities.
2. Following the practice sessions the teacher and class will nominate members of the class to actually undertake the activities during the video conference.
3. The list of selected children for each activity will be emailed to the partner school.

Video Conference Agenda – Suggested Activities

7. Initial greetings between the two classes.
8. Each selected member(s) will compete against the selected member(s) of the partner class in each of the activities.
9. The time/count will be recorded for each member.
10. A presentation ceremony will take place for 3rd, 2^nd 1^st place in each activity.
11. Discussion could take place how the performances could be improved – linking to the scientific aspect of the activity.
12. Closing comments and thank you.
