TEDDY BEAR MATCH VIDEO CONFERENCING PROJECT BRIEF

Preparation prior to VC
- In groups or as a whole class design and make a teddy bear.
- Write a description of how to make the teddy bear – e.g. what materials to use, sizes etc.
- Photograph/video the process involved in making the teddy bear to be used during the video conference.
- Email the written description of the teddy bear to the partner class/school for them to recreate.
Resources
- Paper and drawing materials for designing the teddy bear.
- Various materials to make the teddy bear according to the design
- Set of instructions
- Digital cameras/camcorders
Video Conference Agenda – Suggested Activities
- Initial introductions between the classes/schools.
- Each class will present the teddy bear created from the emailed design.
- The teddy bear will be compared to the original teddy bear and similarities and differences identified.
- Any videos/photographs will be compared as well as part of the process.
- Discussion can take place according to how easy the set of instructions were to follow.
- Closing comments and thank you.

- Completed teddy bears created from the emailed design.
- Original teddy bear and instructions to compare to the re-created teddy bear.
- Digital cameras/camcorders (optional)
Extension Activities
- The teddy bears could be sent around the world and postcards requested to be sent to the host classes.
- Regular vc sessions could then be arranged to plot the journeys of the teddy bears and to show/read the postcards received.
