COOKING WITH CONFIDENCE VIDEO CONFERENCING PROJECT BRIEF

(idea provided by Steve Bartlett Blenheim Road Community Primary School, Torfaen)

Preparation prior to VC

1. Each class will research and choose a simple traditional or contemporary recipe from their locality
2. Children will attempt to make the recipe prior to VC.
3. (This point is optional)  Each class will prepare the instructions for the recipe in a more child friendly format to send to the partner class.  This can be in a media of their choice.
4. Each class will send the partner class the recipe so that they can obtain the necessary cooking equipment and materials for the VC.

Video Conference Agenda – Suggested Activities

1. Initial introductions between the classes/schools.
2. Each class will put on a 'cooking style tv show' - to help demonstrate how to make the dish.
3. The partner class will take notes on how the dish is made and will be given time to ask questions about the dish and to clarify anything.
4. The partner class will then attempt to make the dish according to the recipe provided.
5. Each class will taste the dishes and give feedback according to the quality of instructions and the quality of the 'cooking style tv show'.
6. Closing comments and thank you.
