CULTURAL DANCE EXCHANGE PROJECT BRIEF

Schools from two different countries express an emotion through dance and present to each other.

Prior preparation

• Discuss between participating schools the emotion your school will portray.
• Discuss emotion with class and think of ways to express through dance.
• Teach/create a traditional dance to your class that expresses the chosen emotion.

Suggested activities

• Welcome and introductions between schools.
• School one, perform dance.
• School two, discuss dance elements and try to guess emotion that is being portrayed.
• School two, perform dance.
• School one, discuss dance elements and try to guess emotion that is being portrayed.
• Teach each other part of a traditional dance.
• Share some information about the culture within your country with each other.
